HELP & GUIDANCE
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear, honest answers about ISO management systems, audit scheduling, accreditation validity, and our Houston coordination service.
1. General & Accreditation
Do you issue the ISO certificate yourselves?
No. Northbridge Accreditation Services coordinates the programme — conducting pre-assessments, assembling evidence, and scheduling audits. The official certification decision and certificate issuance are handled independently by an authorized certification body partner. This strict separation ensures complete audit impartiality and E-E-A-T integrity.
Is an ISO certificate internationally recognized?
Yes. International recognition depends on the accreditation of the issuing certification body. We clearly state the issuing partner and accreditation framework on every certificate and in our public directory so enterprise buyers, banks, and regulators can verify recognition immediately.
Are your certificates “Government Certificates”?
No legitimate certification provider should describe ISO certificates as “government certificates.” ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent non-governmental organization. We state accreditation and corporate credentials with complete legal precision.
2. Audit Process & Timelines
How long does it take to achieve ISO certification?
Most single-site businesses achieve Stage 1 readiness within four to eight weeks, depending on how much operational documentation is already in place. Once Stage 1 is cleared, Stage 2 is typically scheduled within 2 to 4 weeks, with certificate issuance following closure of any minor findings.
Can audits be conducted remotely?
Yes. For knowledge-based, technology, professional service, and distributed software organizations (e.g. ISO 27001 or ISO 9001), audits can often be conducted 100% remotely using secure video conferences and electronic record sampling. Physical manufacturing and hazardous operations require on-site assessment.
What happens if the auditor identifies nonconformities?
Minor findings during audits are completely normal and expected. The auditor grants a 30 to 90-day window to submit corrective actions with root-cause analysis. Northbridge helps you structure the corrective evidence pack so the lead auditor can sign off and recommend award.
3. Pricing, Mandays & Fees
How are certification fees calculated?
Fees are determined by three transparent factors: the required standard, total organization headcount, and the number of physical sites in scope. These parameters dictate the mandatory auditor days required by international guidelines. We provide a single fixed written quotation before any engagement begins.
Can we save money by certifying multiple standards simultaneously?
Yes. By implementing an Integrated Management System (IMS) — such as ISO 9001 + ISO 14001 or ISO 27001 — you eliminate duplicate clause paperwork and save up to 25% in auditor days and total fees compared to booking separate audits.
4. Verification & Public Register
How do clients verify our certificate?
Clients can enter your certificate reference number (e.g. NB-ISO9001-2026-0001) on our Certificate Verification page, or scan the QR code printed directly on the certificate. The live register displays certified company name, standard, scope, issue date, and current status.
What happens when a certificate reaches its 3-year expiry?
Certificates are valid for 3 years, subject to annual surveillance audits at months 12 and 24. Prior to expiry, we coordinate a recertification audit with the certification body to renew the credential for another 3 years and maintain active standing in the register.
