About Northbridge

Independent standards. Trusted certification.

We are a certification coordination company based in Houston, Texas. We prepare organizations for ISO assessment, manage the audit programme, and maintain a public register that anyone can check.

Why we separate coordination from certification

A certification body that also sells consultancy has an obvious conflict of interest: the same organization advises you on how to pass, then decides whether you pass. Most accreditation frameworks restrict this for that reason.

Our model is deliberately split. Northbridge coordinates the programme — scoping, documentation, readiness, scheduling and corrective actions. The certification decision is made by an authorized certification body, independently of us. We do not sit on the decision panel and we cannot issue a certificate on their behalf.

That separation is slower in one sense: you cannot buy a decision from us. It is stronger in another: when a buyer checks your certificate, the issuing body and its accreditation are visible, and the result stands on its own.

What accreditation actually means

Accreditation is the formal recognition of a certification body’s competence to audit a specific scope. It is granted by a national accreditation body — for example ANAB in the United States or UKAS in the United Kingdom — and it is usually tied to a defined technical scope rather than the whole organization.

Two things follow from that. First, a certificate is only as strong as the accreditation behind the specific standard and scope it covers. Second, the words on a certificate should name the issuing body and its accreditation, so a buyer can check both.

We state the issuing certification body and its accreditation details on every certificate we support, and in the public register. Where a scope is not covered by an accreditation, we say so instead of implying otherwise.

What we do not do

  • We do not issue certificates ourselves.
  • We do not describe certificates as government certificates.
  • We do not claim accreditation we cannot evidence in writing.
  • We do not guarantee a certification outcome.

How we work

Three commitments we make in writing

A fixed scope before work starts

Standards, sites, headcount, audit days and fees are agreed in writing. Scope changes are documented rather than absorbed silently into the invoice.

Evidence over paperwork

We build systems that reflect how you actually operate. Documents that nobody uses fail at surveillance audit, and they waste the effort spent producing them.

A register anyone can check

Every certificate we support is published with a unique number, a QR code and a public page showing current status. Expired and withdrawn records stay visible as such.

Where we work

Our coordination team is based in Houston and works with organizations across the United States and internationally. Audits are scheduled at your sites, or remotely where the standard and certification body permit it.

If your requirement comes from a customer in another jurisdiction, tell us the clause or questionnaire item. Recognition of a certificate often depends on the accreditation of the issuing body rather than the country of the client, and we will confirm what applies before you commit.
