ISO 14001:2015 certification
ISO 14001 asks you to identify the environmental aspects of what you do, control the significant ones, and demonstrate legal compliance. It is a management system, not a statement that your operation has no impact.
Who ISO 14001 suits
- Manufacturing, processing and logistics operations with environmental permits.
- Construction and engineering contractors working on regulated sites.
- Organizations responding to customer or investor environmental requirements.

ISO 14001 questions
Does ISO 14001 certification mean we are compliant with environmental law?
Certification requires a process for identifying and evaluating compliance obligations. It is not a legal warranty, and regulators remain the authority on compliance.
Do we need to measure all emissions?
No. You monitor and measure what your significant aspects and compliance obligations require. The register is what determines the scope of monitoring.
Can contractors be included in the scope?
Yes. Contractors working under your control are typically addressed through operational control and procurement requirements.
How does it combine with ISO 45001?
Both use the same high-level structure, and integrated environmental and safety audits are common for site-based operations.
